Do you know what Arthritis means? Well, it is the condition caused by the inflammation of joints that result in pain, stiffness, and loss of motion in certain cases.
Arthritis is a very common condition in India. There exist about 100 types of arthritis, of which some are very common and some are extremely rare.
Most symptoms of arthritis are similar such as joint pain, a problem with movement, inflammation, fatigue etc.,
This is a chronic disease caused by the gradual loss of cartilage in joints that causes the bone to rub against each other. This results in stiffness, impaired movement with pain. This disease typically affects the joints in the hands, spine, knees, and hips.
This is very common in women than in men. Here are some common symptoms of this disease:
- Stiffness in the joint
- Pain in the Joints
- A decreased range of motion.
There is no cure for osteoarthritis, but a right treatment plan can help you stay active, limit injury, and manage pain.
Our treatment mainly involves physiotherapy, low-grade exercise, anti-inflammatory and pain relieving medicines.
This is a condition that affects about 1% of the adult population in India. It is an auto-immune disease. This affects the lining of your joints causing a painful swelling that eventually results in bone erosion and joint deformity. Below is the list of symptoms caused by Rheumatoid arthritis;
- Minor Fever
- Joint tenderness
- Joint stiffness
- Weight loss
- Joint swelling
This cannot be cured but with the help of physiotherapy and anti-inflammatory, we can slow down its progression.
This is another type, caused by the deposition of uric acid crystals in joint, resulting in inflammation and pain. Some common symptoms are,
- Swollen joints
- Joint Redness
- Warmness in Joint
- Joint pain
- Formation of nodules under the skin.
This is a long-lasting chronic disease. This is most common in children. There are several types of Juvenile arthritis and each has varied symptoms. However, there are some common symptoms as listed below;
- Weight Loss
- Persistent fever
- Pain and swelling in the joints
