This blog is intended to create awareness about the fraud medical admission agents.
In the Philippines, there are several universities offering the medical course MD (MBBS in India) for international students. Nonetheless, not every university is an authorized one. To safeguard your carrier, you need to look for a college that is MCI approved.
Indian Embassy in Manila, Philippines has recently released an advisory note for the Indian medical aspirants who seek admission in the Philippines Medical College.
Like any other universities across the world, the medical university in the Philippines has a limited number of seats for international students.
Therefore, the proportion of students with demand is much higher than the availability of seats.
It has come to the notice that some agents taking benefit of this shortage of seats happen to be misguiding the aspirants and are providing them admission letters from unauthorized universities i.e. not authorized by the CHED, Philippines.
Students, after completion of their MD from such unauthorized college, are not allowed to appear for the screening test, conducted by the MCI.
Hence make sure you choose only MCI approved medical colleges in the Philippines.
Besides this, there is another group of agents who collect hefty service charges that contain the tuition fee and hostel fee as well.
But none of the medical universities authorize the agents to collect tuition fee and college fee on their behalf. You need to pay these fees directly to the university on a yearly basis.
Furthermore, there are certain agents who are not even primarily based in India but operate from abroad. And generally, such agents’ service charges are low.
Hence, you must always choose an Indian agent who is authorized by the university directly. And be clear that an agent’s background and the authority they hold should be your principal criteria for selecting them and not service charge.
Hope this is helpful to you.
