Prakash Javadkar, the Human Resource Development minister, announced on 7th July 2018 that the newly established National Testing Agency (NTA) will now be conducting the national-level examinations – NET, JEE(Mains), NEET . Till now, these exams were conducted by the CBSE.
This would have great implications for the students preparing for NEET 2019 and for those who have already written this exam before as the pattern of the exam might be a complete overhaul from next year. Besides this, the previous year’s question papers will be of no use.
With the announcement of the National Testing Agency, there will be several changes in the exam pattern from next year.

When the exam will be held?
NEET exam will be held twice a year from 2019, in February & April.
Can the candidates appear in both the tests?
A candidate can appear both the times in NEET exam and the better of the two scores would be taken into account for admission.
As per the reports, the new exam body will consider the variation in difficulty levels in the two tests by using specialized standardization methods while determining the final score.
NEET will be Computer-based or a paper-pen test?
The exam conducted by the NTA will be computer based. Students can go to the centers announced by the NTA to practice for the exams.
What remains unchanged?
The Human Resource Development said the syllabus, language, question formats, and fees would not be changed for any of these exams.
